OUR PRACTICE
Dr. Byrne, Dr. McTigue, Dr. Reeck and Dr. Davis are all Board-Certified dermatologists dedicated to helping patients enjoy youthful, healthy skin. At the Dermatology Center of Southern Indiana we customize skin care treatments for each patient and strive to make your experience easy and comfortable.
Dermatologists are trained to treat patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly. This includes the diagnosis, treatment and preventionof problems of the skin, hair and nails. Conditions common among children are moles and birthmarks, dermatitis, acne, warts, vitiligo, insect bites and birth defects. In adults we treat a range of conditions such as cancers and pre-cancers, rosacea, psoriasis and shingles. We also treat eczema, allergies and other disorders that occur in all age groups, and carefully examine moles or other growths to determine whether they are or may become cancerous.
LASER HAIR REMOVAL
Lasers produce highly focused, intense beams of light that are absorbed by dark pigments in the hair follicles beneath the skin's surface and converted to heat, destroying the follicles and preventing hair growth for up to two years.
Multiple treatments are required for complete hair removal -- the follicle must be "active" at the time of treatment, and not all follicles are active at the same time. Treatments are needle-free and do not require anesthesia. Most patients feel nothing more than a slight sting like the snap of a rubber band.
